Our Team

Leadership: Lake Lansing Baptist has a legacy of Godly, consistent leadership. Over our nearly 62 years of ministry, we have had just five pastors. Our most recent pastor served twenty-six years before retiring to glory. Currently, we are deacon-led while our church-appointed pastoral search committee seeks potential candidates.

Music Ministry: We have a faithful music team that helps lead our choir, organize our orchestra, schedule special music, and prepare for worship. Our music style is conservative, traditional hymns.

Sunday School: Our Christian Education Director teaches a combined Sunday School for the younger grades, while the adults meet separately for Sunday School. A faithful church member teaches Sunday School to our toddlers. We also have a special lesson time for those children from Kindergarten to Second Grade during the worship service.

Youth

AWANA: Our AWANA Director and Assistant Director oversee our Wednesday night AWANA Program.

Nursery: Our Nursery Coordinator ensures there are adequate volunteers to assist with infants during Sunday School and the worship service.

Teens: Two couples manage the well-attended Wednesday evening youth service.

Missions Program: We support home and foreign missionaries from a variety of ministries and agencies, some of which are: The Institute for Creation Research, The City Rescue Mission of Lansing, the Christian Law Association, the county jail chaplain with Forgotten Man Ministries, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Baptist World Mission, Baptist International Missions, and the Spanish American Mission. Historically our goal has been to maintain our missions program at or near 15% of our total church budget.

Good Stewardship: We are debt-free. Though the worldwide pandemic has reduced attendance, we finished 2020 in a strong financial position. Our leadership has always been committed to strong financial transparency and accountability.

About Us

Lake Lansing Baptist is an independent, conservative Baptist church holding to the fundamentals of the faith and firmly established in the inerrant view of Scripture. Our goal is to grow in unity, as we individually commit to faithful service of Christ.

Our History

Lake Lansing Baptist Church officially began on May 22, 1958 with 52 charter members. Fred and Dora Kaiser generously donated land to build, and the original wing was completed in 1960. The auditorium was completed in the 1970s.
